Sinopse:
A série segue a vida da terapeuta Jean Holloway (Naomi Watts), uma mulher que, no papel, tem a vida perfeita: uma carreira notável, uma casa espaçosa nos subúrbios de Connecticut, um marido advogado bem-sucedido (Billy Crudup) e uma criança brilhante. O que lhe falta, entretanto, é a contenção. A insaciável curiosidade de Jean acaba por vê-la contornando as linhas éticas e borrando as fronteiras da realidade profissional e da fantasia pessoal, juntando os fragmentos das admissões de seus pacientes e furtivamente forjando relações proibidas – algumas mais físicas do que outras – com as pessoas em suas vidas.
